This book contains all of my ongoing SuperPly paintings as of the publication date as well as some of their colorful friends. Each painting in the book is annotated with the story behind it. There is also a description of how I came up with the series and my approach to creating it.

The Behind the Art Series is a weekly feature from the Gallery by MUI which presents interesting works of art and lets readers learn more about the artist, artwork, and amazing story behind each piece. The first piece in the series is Champ!

Evocations is a literary and art review dedicated to creating a more equal world through the power of literature and art. The Winter 2022 issue contains Near the Vernal Equinox and Solar Tube.

Beyond Words Literary Magazine

Beyond Words is an international journal from Germany that contains literary works along with exciting visual artwork. Issue 20 features Birthday Cake.

Phoebe

Phoebe is an art and literary journal from George Mason University. Issue 50.2 features the work VHS from Barbara’s Invisible Things Happen series.

Santa Ana River Review

In the Footsteps of Giants graces the cover of the Santa Ana River Review Summer/Fall 2020 issue. The Santa Ana River Review is published by the University of California, Riverside and publishes bold new works in visual art, nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and drama.

The Raw Art Review: A Journal of Storm and Urge

The Raw Art Review published Truth or Dare from the SuperPly series in the Spring 2019 issue.

The HCE Review

The HCE Review is a quarterly online literary journal from University College, Dublin. The journal aims to publish fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and visual art from both established and emerging writers and artists from around the world. Taking Sides II was featured in volume III, issue II.

The Menteur

The Menteur is a literary and arts magazine produced by the Paris School of Arts and Culture, part of the University of Kent. The Spring 2019 issue featured Aim High from the SuperPly series.

Montana Mouthful

Montana Mouthful is an independent, nonprofit literary magazine devoted to publishing short fiction and nonfiction, poetry, and visual artwork. Its Clowning Around issue contains Happy and Le Petit Garçon II.

Stillpoint Arts Quarterly

Stillpoint Arts Quarterly has featured Barbara’s works in two issues. Across from the Old Dairy and By the Kitchen Door are in the Spring 2019 issue, and In the City is in the Fall 2017 issue.

Juste Milieu

Hot Gossip is in the Pop Art issue of Juste Milieu, an international literary zine from Literary Homegirl.

The McNeese Review

The McNeese Review, a literary journal from McNeese State University, has two works in issue 55, And Now My Beauty and Behind the Mask.

Fan the Flame is in the Spring 2018 issue of Metonym Literary Journal, published by William Jessup University.

NonBinary Review

The NonBinary Review (so named because it blurs the lines between electronic literature and traditional, being neither and both at the same time) issue 15, was devoted to Shirley Jackson’s novel We Have Always Lived in the Castle. It has the work Fool’s Journey in it.

Up the Staircase Quarterly

Five works from the Holes series are included in issue 39 of Up the Staircase Quarterly.

Charging My Pet is in the Summer Contest 2017 issue of Gulf Stream Magazine, which champions vibrant and eclectic literature and art. Based in beautiful Miami, Florida, it publishes works from the USA and beyond.
